My wife and I were recently married and decided to spend our honeymoon in the beautiful Italian lakes, starting at Lake Como and finishing at Lake Garda. I thought it would be a romantic idea to hire a current Alfa Spider (this was to be a secret, as I told her I'd hired a Fiat 500). So I started to research this possibility on the web and, in so doing. I came across a small company based at Lake Garda who have a fleet of classic cars for rent, including three Alfa Spiders, all of a slightly different vintage. I found the owener of the company to be most helpful and I decided to plump for his 1982 1600 Duetto, pictured at Villa D'Este before mid-morning cappuccinos, We had the most wonderful honeymoon and the car was a pure delight, as it had been beautifully maintained. The car was delivered to Bergamo airport for our arrival and then the owner personally delivered myself and my wife back to Bergamo. A superb service all round and, for anyone who has a passion for Italian cars and is considering a holiday similar to ours, I would highly recommend it. Driving the Duetto around the lakes and through all the beautiful villages and towns was a real treat and I'm glad I opted for this as opposed to a current model Spider. Cari "ragazzi" di Slow drive, sono uno che affittò per una settimana nel 2004 una delle vostre auto d'epoca (una Mg decapottabile) per una settiama facendoci il giro del Garda. Credo di essere stato fra i primi in assoluto. Mi fa piacere che insistiate e che quindi le cose vi siano andata bene, speriamo benissimo. Io ricordo quei giorni come bellissimi. My wife and I are back in Seattle from our vacation in Italy. I just wanted to thank you again for the excellent service! Driving the Fiat 500 around Parma was one of the highlights of our trip. The dinner we had at the hotel was the best meal we had during our time in Italy.
I hope to come out again sometime during warmer weather to rent one of the Alfas.
