The ‘Spitfire’ presented in the USA in 1962, uses a shortened frame and a 1147cm3 motor from the Triumph ‘Herald’, with horse power increased to 63cv. Its success was immediate in Italy too. The MKII followed, undoubtedly the better looking vehicle from a design standpoint but also able, even though it has limited power, to achieve numerous successes on the sporting front. The MKII model is more rare, at the time of its launch only 250 were produced in Italy.
