The tour takes us onto the road of the ‘Parma Ham’ and wines from the ‘Colli di Parma’. A great route for you to really experience the car as well as the surrounding views. The road called ‘La Cisa’ runs towards Collecchio’ through the Carrega woodland and Sala Baganza with its wonderful fortress of San Vitale, view frescos dating from the XIV – XVII centuries. You will also run across the Felino castle built by Lodovico il Moro and now magnificently rebuilt, then the castle of Torrechiara, romantic refuge to probably the worlds most famous lovers….. finally the museum of Ham in Langhiriano.
Day two you may like to venture to the nearby Magnani-Rocca foundation in Mamiano, to view the private art gallery, including works of Monet and Beato Angelico followed by a visit to the Montechiarugolo castle with its dominating view of the valley below.
On the return trip you should not miss a drive through of Parma centre and if you decide to extend your stay you could head towards the hills of Salsomaggiore and the medieval villages of the Piacenza region, for example Vigoleno and Castell’Arquato.
