"Alfa Romeo launched a Spider version of its new Giulietta at the same time as the saloon model in 1955. The new sportscar was styled for Alfa Romeo by Pininfarina and looked like a true thoroughbred. The Spider was a pure two seater and had all of the traditional Alfa hallmarks, such as the front grille and plain steel road wheels.
Underneath the Spider had standard Giulietta running gear, including the same 1290cc twin-cam engine. Production carried on alongside the saloon model until 1962."
